Cable dimensioning with correction factors for current carrying capacity
Cables require trouble-free operation for decades, so cables must be carefully dimensioned and routed.
In order to ensure the safe operation of a cable, the following criteria for the correct design determine which cross-section is loadable up to which current:
- Operating voltage
- Permissible conductor temperature
- Dynamic stress during short circuit
- Short-circuit resistance
- Cable / cable length
- Maximum voltage drop
- In which type of laying
Taking into account the above-mentioned criteria for the conductor dimensioning, the cable is not overloaded in any operating state.
